The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Japan is very pleased to host, together with international law firm Loyens & Loeff and Japanese bank Nomura, the 2nd edition of the Dutch-Japan Investment Seminar. In addition, we are honored by the participation of Ms Mona Keijzer, State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy in the Netherlands.

In the search for stable and sustainable investments, the sponsoring partners Aegon and NN Investement Partners would be keen on endorsing Japanese institutional investors during the match making sessions to discover new long-term investment opportunities. Therefore, the objective of this event is to stimulate cooperation between Japanese asset owners and Dutch asset managers as well as to discuss recent (regulatory) changes in the Netherlands, including ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) developments. Finally, the match making lunch (for Japanese investors only) offers a unique and exclusive possibility to address the State Secretary, as she will rotate along each of the tables.

The Netherlands is a well-known European base for Japanese companies, with around 800 Japanese establishments in the country. It is also an interesting destination for investors, boasting an excellent investment climate with a stable political and regulatory environment, a well-developed financial services infrastructure and a wide variety of large-scale investment opportunities in the field of energy, infrastructure and real estate.

Finally, Dutch pension funds and asset managers are forerunners in ESG and among the largest in Europe with in total more than 1,800 billion euro assets under management. They are keen on working with Japanese asset owners and to assist them in realizing their long-term investment objectives.
